Pictures Riddle gives you four photographs and asks for the single word all of them share. Sometimes the link is literal and sometimes it is a pun, and the gap between those two is where the whole game lives.

The difficulty is not vocabulary, it is fixation. Once you have decided the first picture is about a beach, every other picture gets read as a beach, and the answer stays invisible until you deliberately look at the fourth one first. Learning to drop a wrong reading quickly is the skill it actually trains.

A second mode swaps the pictures for written riddles, which changes the kind of thinking rather than the difficulty. The picture rounds reward association; the riddle rounds reward reading the question exactly as it is worded.

There are hundreds of levels and no timer, and the letters you need are always in front of you, so a level is never unwinnable, only unsolved. It works well as a game passed between two people, because the reading one person is stuck in is rarely the one the other starts from.
