Description

Frog.io drops you into a flat arena full of other frogs, all doing the same thing you are. Fruit lying around the map makes you grow slowly and safely; swallowing another player makes you grow fast. Both matter, and neither is enough on its own.

The tongue is what separates this from every other eat-and-grow game. It has to be aimed and it takes a moment to come back, so the frog you missed now has a free run at you. Firing it at long range looks impressive and is the most common way people lose their size in one go.

Growing changes your position in the food chain and nothing else about how you move. A bigger frog can eat more of the arena but is a far larger target, and the players who were avoiding you a minute ago start coordinating instead. Sitting at the top is louder than it is safe.

Rounds are short and the map keeps you honest, since there is nowhere to hide and no wall to farm behind. That makes it a game of small decisions taken quickly, and a bad one costs you everything you spent the last two minutes building.
