Description

Free IQ Test: Left & Right Brain Analysis is adapted from the Cambridge Self-Scoring Test Master published by Dan Pape in 1993, and it keeps the shape of that test: seven timed sections, an adjustment for your age, and a split between the logical and the visual-creative halves.

The sections are memory, perception, word comprehension, numerical spanning, logic, numerical sequences and creativity. Memory opens with thirty seconds to learn twenty symbols and their numbers before the grid disappears. Perception hides a missing digit inside a string, or a letter that appears twice. Numerical spanning only asks whether two long numbers are identical, which sounds easy until the clock starts. Creativity asks for the English word that joins three others, so that section leans on English vocabulary.

Each section is timed separately, and that is deliberate: a section you could solve given ten minutes tells you something different from one you solved in the time allowed. You may skip a section, but anything left unanswered counts as wrong.

The result comes in two parts — a total adjusted for your age, and a comparison of the logical sections against the visual and creative ones, which is where the left-brain and right-brain framing comes from. Scores run from roughly 55 to 145 and sit at 100 for half the questions answered correctly. Answers are clicked, or typed and confirmed with Enter on the fill-in questions.
