Math Duck
Description
Math Duck hands you a row of number cards and an enemy, and the only way to damage the second is to combine cards from the first until they add up to ten. There is no other attack, so a hand with no workable pair is a turn spent doing nothing.
That makes card management the real lesson rather than the addition itself. Spending a seven and a three early feels efficient and leaves you holding numbers that cannot reach ten together, which is how a comfortable fight turns awkward two turns later.
Enemies have enough health that single hits will not finish them, so the pace is set by how often you can build a pair rather than how hard any one of them lands. Looking at what will be left in hand afterwards matters as much as the sum in front of you.
Experience accumulates and the duck levels up, which widens what a hand can do without ever removing the requirement to reach exactly ten. It is arithmetic practice wearing the shape of a card battler, and it does not hide either half.
