Description

Chicken Math opens with a complaint. Archimedes has been stuck on the same problem for a week, and the reason is not the mathematics — it is the chickens. They have stolen his numbers again and are loose in the backyard, so he hands you a rifle and sends you out to bring them back.

His warning is the whole game: he needs the correct numbers. You cannot blast every chicken that crosses your sights, because a shot only counts if the number it carries is the right answer.

That gives every round a double pressure. Half your attention is doing arithmetic and half is tracking a moving target across a 3D backyard, and the two do not naturally cooperate. Rush the shot and you bring back a wrong number; take too long on the sum and the bird you wanted has wandered somewhere awkward.

Getting good at it means doing the math fast enough that the aiming still feels easy. The practice sneaks in without lecturing — you are drilling mental arithmetic the whole time, but it plays as a shooting game because it is one.
