Description

Hexa Sort gives you a hexagonal board and stacks of coloured discs to place on it. When a stack sits next to another with the same colour on top, the discs move across and combine, and a hex holding enough of a single colour clears itself away.

Because the discs move rather than the stacks, placement is about what will flow where. A stack put down in the wrong place does not merge; it blocks, and a board of blocked stacks has no legal move left even though it looks full of options.

The stacks you are given are mixed, which is the constraint. A stack with one blue on top of four reds is really two decisions, and reading what is underneath before you commit is the habit that separates a long game from a short one.

It is calm and slow-moving, with no timer and a board you can study for as long as you like. The satisfaction is the same one that makes people tidy shelves, and the game is unapologetic about that being the appeal.
