Description

Bow and Arrow is an archery game that takes the arc seriously. The arrow falls the whole time it is travelling, so aiming at a distant target means aiming above it, and the further the target, the more of the shot begins as an estimate. Practice slowly turns that estimate into a habit.

Moving targets add the second variable. You are no longer aiming at where something is but at where it will be when the arrow gets there, and those two points separate further apart the longer the shot. Leading a target is a skill that arrives suddenly rather than gradually.

The levels vary the problem rather than only the difficulty. Some ask for accuracy at range, some for speed against several targets, and some put obstacles in a line that a flat shot cannot clear but a lofted one can.

Nothing is timed unless a level says so, and there is no penalty for lining a shot up slowly. It rewards the same patience real archery does, and the moment the arc becomes intuitive rather than calculated is the moment the game gets good.
